For importers and retail buyers, GMP is one of the baseline requirements when approving a new beverage supplier. It is evidence that the process is managed properly, not just claimed to be.

HACCP — Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points

HACCP is a science-based food safety system that identifies and controls hazards at every point in production. It is a legal requirement for food and beverage export into the EU and the US, and expected by most regulated markets globally.

In practice it means every stage of our production has been assessed for biological, chemical, and physical hazards. Control points are documented and monitored. For buyers listing products in regulated retail, HACCP is not optional.

ISO 9001:2015 — Quality Management System

BRC — British Retail Consortium Global Standard

BRC is one of the most respected food safety standards for retail supply in the UK and Europe. Major British and European supermarket buying groups require BRC certification from their suppliers as a condition of listing.

If your target market includes UK or European retail chains, BRC certification removes a significant barrier. It puts Mr Basil on the same footing as established domestic suppliers in those markets when retail buyers are reviewing the supplier list.

FDA — US Food and Drug Administration Compliance

FDA registration is a legal requirement for food and beverage products entering the US commercially. It is also used as a quality reference in Canada, parts of Latin America, and some Gulf state import frameworks. Your customs broker will ask for this documentation.

FSSC 22000 — Food Safety System Certification

FSSC 22000 builds on ISO 22000 with additional sector-specific requirements. It is recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and is increasingly required by large retail buying groups worldwide as a condition of supplier approval.

Because GFSI recognises FSSC 22000 as equivalent to BRC and other benchmarked schemes, it gives you maximum flexibility when presenting our credentials to retail buyers across different markets. One certification, accepted across multiple frameworks.

A: A COA is a quality document produced per production batch. It confirms the product meets its defined specifications across parameters like microbiological safety, pH, Brix (sugar content), and physical characteristics. We provide a COA for every shipment on request.
